Our Namibian-owned and conservancy-focused conservation organization is dedicated to fostering sustainable coexistence between people and wildlife. Through collaborative efforts, we strive to conserve and restore the unique ecosystems of Namibia, safeguarding biodiversity, and promoting responsible management for the benefit of our partner communities. The SWT game guard program encourages and facilitates community engagement, participation, and innovative conservation practices. Our goal is to create a harmonious balance that preserves the rich cultural and ecological tapestry of Namibia, fostering a sustainable legacy for wildlife and habitat conservation.
Our primary objective is to empower Namibia's communal conservancies for more effective management of their wildlife and wilderness assets. Through our community partnership program, the Sustainable Wildlife Trust allocates funding and management resources to develop conservation initiatives that are community specific. The focus of our conservation partnerships is primarily in the Kunene Region, where wildlife management and protection are of utmost importance. Our community partners include the Hobatere Concession, Ehi-rovipuka Conservancy, Orupupa Conservancy, Omatendeka Conservancy, Anabeb Conservancy, Ozondundu Conservancy, and the Sesfontein Conservancy. This collaboration spans an area exceeding three and a half million acres of habitat, stretching from the western Etosha National Park boundary to the Skeleton Coast Park; a historic and vital wildlife corridor.
